Mission accomplished! The Saadiyat Bridge is ready and open on time for the inauguration of the Formula One circuit! The first Formula One Grand Prix in Abu Dhabi will be held on Yas Island on November 1st with the Saadiyat Bridge as the feeder to this big event. 28.09.2009 The Freimann Flyover: One of the most sophisticated bridge projects currently in progress. The old Freimann flyover was completed in 1960. It is situated in the north of Munich and takes the A9 Nuremberg-Munich Federal Motorway over the Foehringer and Frankfurter ring road. With a length of 586 m the multi-span bridge with a total of 20 spans also crosses the 3 tracks of the DB rail north ring and the U6 subway line. In December 2007 DYWIDAG Bau GmbH, Bridge Construction Unit, was awarded the contract for the downsizing and new construction of the flyover in Freimann by Autobahndirektion Südbayern (Motorway Directorate for Southern Bavaria). 16.09.2009 Open Day at the Funder Bridge in Silkeborg, Denmark Denmark’s largest land bridge attracts much public interest. “Open Day” at the construction site was a complete success. 21.07.2009 The famous Portikus will soon be back in place in Leipzig Construction work for the City-Tunnel in Leipzig will mostly be completed by the end of the year. It is now time for the Portikus to return to its original place. 20.07.2009 MPP3 – Maasvlakte Power Plant Unit 3, Rotterdam, The Netherlands Despite frontal systems bringing bad weather – slipforming target is reached at 131 m 17.07.2009 Richard-Strauss-Tunnel, Munich, Germany Work has come to an end in the Richard-Strauss-Tunnel. Completion of main section of the Mittlerer Ring ring road in Munich is celebrated with a street festival on July 18th. 26.06.2009 Bridge over the Funder Valley, Silkeborg, Denmark Construction of Denmark’s largest land bridge is on track! The incremental launching of the north superstructure commenced as planned on June 17, 2009. Dywidag Bau GmbH, Nuremberg branch, is building the Funder Bridge in Denmark in a joint venture with Züblin Scandinavia, A/S (Dywidag 90%, Züblin 10%). The bridge is part of a 12 km long motorway section closing the East-West connection Herning – Aarhus. 24.06.2009 New construction of Main bridge at Gossmannsdorf: Now ready for final incremental launch! In the course of the new Gossmannsdorf bypass a new bridge is also being built over the river Main at Gossmannsdorf. This new Main bridge crosses the Gossmannsdorf locks, the run-off water of the Main in the area of the river power plant as well as 2 farm tracks. Over a length of 586 metres this multi-span bridge with a total of 20 spans also crosses the 3 railway tracks of the north ring of the Deutsche Bahn AG and the subway U 6. 19.06.2009 Main Bridge at Randersacker: All work is on schedule The Main bridge at Randersacker measures 540 m in length and takes the A3 federal motorway over the river Main, the railway line Würzburg-Treuchtlingen, the federal highway 13 from Würzburg-Ansbach, the state road 2418 Würzburg-Ochsenfurt and the Main valley cycle and hiking track. 05.05.2009 Taking a walk to Saadiyat Island A reason to celebrate: After a construction period of 28 months the north superstructure of the Saadiyat bridge has been open across its entire length since the beginning of April. 02.02.2009 New construction of the A 8 – Wroclaw West Bypass, Poland A consortium comprising the companies STRABAG - DYWIDAG - Heilit + Woerner-MOSTOSTAL has been awarded the contract for the construction of the Wroclaw West Bypass, Lot 2, with a total length of approx. 19 km. 10.12.2008 Coal-fired power plant of E.ON in Maasvlakte - Rotterdam, Contract: DYWIDAG Bau GmbH, Munich The civil engineering unit of DYWIDAG Bau GmbH, Munich, has today been awarded the contract for the construction of the Maasvlakte Power Plant, Lot 20a, as partner of a joint venture with Ed. Züblin AG, BA Industriebau Duisburg and TBI Bouw B.V., Apeldoorn, The Netherlands. The contract value for the new construction of the power plant (1,100 MW) is 157.936 million euro and covers earthworks, masonry and concrete work for the power station block and the auxiliary facilities.
